CONCEPT

The centre of Trencin is determined by the castle rock on the one side and the river Vah on the other side. In this area is situated historical part with main dominants of the town and next to it is the main communication and railway. The rest of the area which reaches the river is totally unused. That is the reason why nowadays Trencin does not have real riverside and the potential of the river is unused.

Area of Trencin´s riverside close to the centre is very lucrative with huge potential, so it should not stay vacant. It should become the worthy part of the town with permanent residents. The main targets are – creating of a live riverside; improving of traffic and connecting riverside with the centre of the town.

New built-up area should follow existing structure of historical town up to the river. For a good connection between the riverside and the centre is very important to preserve existing passages and create the new ones. Next important thing is creating views – visual axis from the riverside to the main dominants especially Trencin's castle. New structure has to communicate with the river on one side and the historical town on the other side.
